Yellowstone Club Community Foundation Welcomes Three New Board Members
Josh Cohen
Josh Cohen joined the YCCF board in the spring of 2024. A San Francisco resident, Josh spends several months each year in Montana, where he has been a Yellowstone Club member since 2018. His professional background includes 20 years in finance, with 13 of those at Golden Gate Capital, where he led consumer investments in industries ranging from retail and restaurants to service companies. Recently, Josh pivoted away from finance to prioritize his family and expand his volunteer efforts.
An active community volunteer, Josh serves as the treasurer of his daughters’ school, co-chairs the social justice committee at his Temple, and coaches Special Olympics tennis. His family’s connection to Yellowstone Club and the surrounding Big Sky community runs deep. Josh cherishes the relationships they’ve formed, from fellow members to the dedicated employees who make YC special.
Josh and his family have embraced outdoor Montana life, learning new sports together and living by Warren Miller’s mantra: “If you don’t do it this year, you’ll be one year older when you do.” Whether skiing every groomer at YC (an achievement celebrated with a trophy) or diving into community service, Josh believes wholeheartedly in the interconnected success of YC and the greater Big Sky community.
Dave Mott
Dave Mott joined the YCCF board in the fall of 2024. A nearly full-time Yellowstone Club resident, Dave spends most of the year in Montana with his wife Alice and their dog Minerva. Their four children have built a lifetime of memories in Big Sky, and their son Teddy now calls the area home full-time.
Dave’s professional expertise spans decades in venture capital, biotechnology, and philanthropy. As an investor through Mott Family Capital and philanthropist through the Mott Family Foundation, Dave also chairs three public biotechnology companies and serves on the board of a fourth. Previously, he spent 11 years as a General Partner at New Enterprise Associates, leading their healthcare investment practice, and held executive roles, including CEO, at MedImmune.
Since joining the Yellowstone Club in 2003, Dave and his family have been deeply involved in the Big Sky region. Whether skiing, hiking, fishing, or improving his golf game, Dave’s love for Montana’s natural beauty is evident. His dedication to non-profit work and community engagement mirrors his passion for fostering positive change in the region.
Jill Woodman
Jill Woodman brings an abundance of community spirit and philanthropic dedication to her role as an incoming board member of the Yellowstone Club Community Foundation. As the co-founder of GoPro, Inc., alongside her husband Nicholas Woodman, Jill played an instrumental role in building a brand that revolutionized personal storytelling through video and photography. She now leads their family foundation, the Jill and Nicholas Woodman Foundation, which reflects the deeply held values of philanthropy and community engagement shared by Jill and Nick.
Jill is dedicated to the Montana communities around Big Sky and the Yellowstone Club, where she and her family, including their three sons ages 10, 12, and 14, have resided full-time for years. When not found playing in the mountains and rivers of SW Montana, the Woodman family actively contributes to various local projects and initiatives, helping to strengthen the local community and preserve the natural environment that has become such an integral part of their lives. Jill’s commitment to philanthropy is also about legacy; she and Nick aim to instill a sense of social responsibility in their sons, encouraging them to engage with and give back to their community.
Jill’s longstanding commitment to the greater Big Sky communities, coupled with her passion for philanthropy, makes her a valuable addition to the Yellowstone Club Community Foundation’s board, where she will help further its mission of fostering philanthropy, volunteerism, and capacity for local organizations.
Josh, Dave and Jill bring unique talents, perspectives, and shared enthusiasm for supporting the Big Sky community. We are excited to have them on board as we continue to expand the Foundation’s impact and build a stronger, more vibrant future for all.
